Gift Final Video

At the recent School Athletics Carnival the final of the Tom Sullivan Gift was run. A competition pitting students of all ages against each other and even against teachers, heats are run over many weeks and the final is run on the day of the whole-school Athletics at the town oval.

Media students talk school flight simulator

Late last year students from the Media Publishing class spoke to Coonabarabran locals Col Mercer and Geoff Gasior about the Flight Simulator project at Coonabarabran High. The Flight Simulator project is a community partnership with the Coonabarabran Aero Club and is designed to introduce students to the possibilities available in flight training and potential air careers as a pilot or in related fields.

The Flight Simulator was obtained as part of a Schools First grant the school won, thanks to the National Australia Bank.

International Feast a great success

The second annual Coonabarabran High School International Feast was held on Friday night, November 14, and was run to great success. Several hundred Coonabarabran food lovers enjoyed a night of international delicacies and displays of cultural artefacts and even some dancing!

The 2014 Tom Sullivan Gift final was a tightly fought battle run on the afternoon of May 21, 2014. In a close finish, Joe Bowen beat out Zak Kelly for the top prize, with Annie Nash running a valiant third. Our Year 9 and 10 Media Publications class have been learning about a variety of methods to report on school activities and document school events. Much of the photography featured on the website is created by students from this class (or their teachers) and the group is now working on video.
