Brittany’s Writing Success

Congratulations to Year 9 student Brittany Doolan who has achieved success in another writing competition.  Brittany won the ABC Central West Radio Children’s Writing Award for students under 16 years of age.  Her 1000 word story “Strangers on a Train”, gained her a prize cheque of $200.  These writing awards were part of Orange’s Banjo Paterson Festival earlier this year.  All stories had to contain Australian content, whether in theme or style.  Entries did not have to be written in Banjo Paterson or ‘bush’ style.  Brittany, a 14 year old student, possesses an extensive vocabulary and a mature writing style.  Her vividly descriptive story depicted the day of the Granville train disaster.

Congratulations, Brittany!
