Live Music at Coonabarabran Sunday Markets
On Sunday 25 February, Felicity Maher, Olivia Meier, Milly Smith, Ian Whittall, Angus Lambert, Bill Dare and Blake Murnane entertained shoppers and stall holders at the monthly Sunday Markets in Coonabarabran.
They performed in front of the Coonabarabran hotel and played live music for two and a half hours. Despite the sweltering heat and relatively low attendance at the markets, the students performed a wide range of music and received many positive comments from passers-by as well as stallholders. We also had a surprise visit from David Henry, a trombone player from Sydney who popped in to listen to a few items. Well done to these students for giving up time on a Sunday morning and performing live music! Thank you also to their parents for supporting the musicians and helping with transport – some students had to travel a particularly long distance to get to the markets, and we appreciate all their parents’ effort and support. We look forward to providing some more live music at the markets in May again, and we look forward to inviting more students to perform. Aimee Rossler
