Talent Quest at Coonabarabran Show
This year, eight students from CHS participated in the Talent Quest at the Coonabarabran Show and all of the students did exceptionally well. Felicity Maher performed a song which she wrote (entitled Be You) and accompanied herself on guitar. She won the “12 and Under” category with her stunning performance.
There were four entries in the “13 to 18” category. Lawrence Little stunned the audience with his performance on piano and subsequently won the category. He performed a piece called Alla Tarantella by Edward McDowell. Angus Lambert, Blake Murnane, Bill Dare and Jayden Moore performed the song All the small things by Blink 182 and won the second prize. Amy Habbitts performed Just the way you are by Bruno Mars and Mya Stone performed They weren’t there by Missy Higgins. Both girls did a great job with their performances and were awarded prizes as well.
I would like to thank the organisers of the Coonabarabran Show for providing students with an opportunity to showcase their talents. I would also like to thank Mr Armstrong for the use of his digital piano. Lastly, I would like to congratulate all the students on their stunning performances – it takes great courage to get up in front of an audience and perform, and great skill to do it well.
