Science & Engineering Challenge in Narrabri

A group of Year 9 and 10 students travelled to Narrabri to participate in the Science and Engineering Challenge.

The school team was divided into groups of four and each group competed in one or two events during the day. Events included tasks such as building towers to withstand earthquakes, building a catapult to hit a target, creating networks between towns and cities while minimising the use of resources, designing electrical supply networks, building a Mars Rover that could keep its load while travelling across a bumpy Martian surface, creating codes with coloured lights and then using their code to communicate, building a bionic hand and building a bridge. At the end of the day the results for each event were added and our school had the overall winning score. Congratulations to all students who participated in the day. Your behaviour and effort were both exemplary.

In the next few weeks we will find out if we have qualified for the state final.
