CHS Mentoring Experience Program
Tuesday 25 July was the launch of Coonabarabran High School’s Mentoring Experience program (CHS ME). The program intends to connect community members with students at CHS, in order to increase a sense of belonging, accountability, and direction. Ultimately, students will be enabled to define the challenges they face and as a result of mentor support, overcome these challenges.
To kick off the program, mentors and students were invited to a BBQ. Mentors boldly put on blindfolds and relied on their students to walk them around an obstacle course, made by Mr Ashby. A competition to make the tallest and most creative structure out of popsicle sticks was run by our chaplain, Narelle Pfeiffer. The close competition was won by two teams – Glenn Lambert with his team Gabe Stewart, Matson Ayoub and Jye Robbins, and Bruce Henley with Bailey Quetcher and Darcy Strong.
Thank you to all who supported the evening and made it such a great success. We are looking forward to more amazing events with our students and mentors.
