Schools Tree Day

Schools Tree Day in Australia occurs on Friday July 26th. As part of their studies in Geography, students in Year 7 participated in a competition that required them to produce a creative piece for Tree Day. Students focused on deforestation and rainforest protection. They produced some wonderful work, including songs, speeches, and poems.

Jack Foster was awarded with best overall effort, receiving a Coonabarabran Bakery voucher in recognition. He presented his speech on assembly, Thursday 25th. Jack’s speech was engaging and informative, and he is to be commended on his confidence. The following students also received a prize for their efforts:

Best researched: Bree O’Neill and Maisie Bell
Most creative: Austin Alberts, Cooper McGlashan and Luke Richards
Bravest: Lauralee Peters

Congratulations to all students who participated and well done!
