Celebrate CHS took place on Friday 6 September. This biannual event is an opportunity to showcase examples of excellence at Coonabarabran High School. In the canteen area, all the different faculties presented displays of work and art done by students.
There were also a few interactive displays, allowing visitors to try out experiments and listen to music compositions. The HSC Design and Technology and Industrial Technology major works were also on display on the stage in the hall. The concert started at 7pm and featured solos, the school choir, the Jazz Band, the ukulele band also known as The Rising Stars, as well as various group items. The HSC Music students each performed two works which they are preparing for their upcoming practical Music exams. Supernova Star Squad brought the school robot into the hall to show what it can do, and to talk about their participation in recent competitions. Four students also presented a scene from Macbeth from the recent Shakespeare Festival. Just over 50 students performed in the various items and they all did the school proud. The Year 9/10 Commerce students sold refreshments during the interval and the funds which they raised will be used for the school hall. The evening was a great success and attracted a large audience, despite the stormy weather and power outage earlier in the day. Congratulations to all who participated!
