Another Feast of Words had come to a close at Coonabarabran High School, with the final sessions taking place on Friday afternoon. This year we had a total of five presenters, who all added to the legacy of wonderful words floating around the place, continuing a tradition which began in 2011.
Could all parents and caregivers please be mindful that textbooks should be returned before the end of the school year. The English Faculty is particularly interested in receiving textbooks from Year 12 students as the next cohort will need to borrow texts before the Christmas holidays. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Last week Coonabarabran welcomed the return of author Paul Stafford. The theme for his visit was that “Everybody Has a Story”.
On the evening of 27 October, community members attended a writing workshop with Paul in the school Library. Via a round table discussion, Paul answered questions and shared his wisdom on how to get started, develop and then seek publication of a broad range of writing, both fiction and non-fiction.
Overdue notices for Library and Text books are sent home with students three times a term – generally in Week 3/6 and 9. Parents/carers can assist the school by encouraging students to return Library books that they have finished reading, and text books that are from previous years. Thank you.
