Coonabarabran High School Music students have been exceptionally privileged this year. Despite all the difficulties associated with Covid-19 and our rural location, students have been able to make excellent progress in Music as a result of some wonderful teachers in New South Wales and Tasmania.
Seven Music students who are currently having Skype lessons with Mark Walton entered the AMEB Music Exams this year. Due to Covid, students entered the online AMEB Video Repertoire Exams as they were unable to complete face-to-face exams. All the exams were recorded in the school hall and uploaded for assessment. The students who participated were: Alex McWhirter (Grade 3 Trumpet), Clover Hippisley (Grade 3 Clarinet), Ellah Bowmaker and Megan Hain (Grade 2 Clarinet), Riley Fleming (Grade 2 Saxophone), Sam Bowman (Grade 1 Saxophone) and Declan Eshman (Grade 4 Saxphone). All of these students passed their exams and achieved some impressive results! They should all be commended for their hard work, dedication and excellent results! Another HUGE thank you goes to Mark Walton for his fantastic work with our students and for inspiring our musicians.
Seven Music students who are currently having Skype lessons with Mark Walton completed their AMEB Online Video Repertoire Music Exams earlier this term. The students are as follows: Alex McWhirter – Grade 3 Trumpet; Ellah Bowmaker and Megan Hain – Grade 2 Clarinet; Sam Bowman – Grade 1 Saxophone; Riley Fleming – Grade 2 Saxophone; Clover Hippisley – Grade 3 Clarinet; Declan Eshman – Grade 4 Saxophone. All these students put a huge amount of work into their preparation and spent many hours rehearsing after school and on weekends – that’s apart from having Skype lessons during their lunch times. The recording process also involved quite a few hours of work after school hours and these students should be commended for their hard work. A HUGE thank you goes to Mark Walton, who has not only taught the students, but who has – and continues to – inspire them to do their best.
